Welcome to 2016~ And what lies ahead!
Dear Kirtan Lovers,
Suzin Green, and Daniel Johnson will be joining our family this year, along with Arjun Bruggeman of Krishna Das tabla fame. We are excited and honored to work with them and be a part of their journey of sharing sacred sound with the world.
Suzin Green will be releasing a follow up album to her beautiful recording, The Mantra Project, Volume I: Daughter of the Mountain. April 22, 2016, on the occasion of Earth Day, The Mantra Project, Volume II: Mantras of the Sun will manifest.
When I first heard Daughter of the Mountain, I was blown away by Suzin’s soulful, rhythm based mantra music. Her classically trained voice is filled with inspiration and devotion and she and her tabla player Daniel, mesh into a seamless duo. What they offer is like a rocking group japa meditation, an orbit of mantra, which puts the listeners in a spiritual trance. It’s incredible and unlike anything else out there!
Arjun has recorded a spiritual adventure of drumming, ambient sounds, voice and even guitar. He plays most of the instruments on this self titled album , which is a journey through the many places of the heart and soul. Like all of the world’s best poets and artists, he is able to capture feelings and experiences, the doubts and triumphs that are common for all humanity and bring them to light, so that we may better understand them ourselves. Expect the unexpected when this album comes to us on April 15, 2016, which is also Ram Navami, the celebration of Lord Ram. What could be a better way to feel connected to the spiritual world than exploring this new offering.
Later in 2016- look forward to Chant for Change, hosted in Washington DC by Mantralogy’s own Gaura Vani and friends. And the follow up album to The Mayapuris Mrdanga.
love to all,
Keli
