Nityananda~A new Single from The Mayapuris!
The Mayapuris released a single entitled, Nityananda, on April 7, 2017. Because they said everything so beautifully, I would like to share with all of you what this song is about, in their own words. Take a few moments of your day to relish the meaning of this stunning piece of music.
Dear Friends,
There is a prayer of gratitude in the Vaisnava tradition that states that the lovers of the Lord are like desire trees, fulfilling the wishes of everyone; from their hearts flow oceans of compassion.
We are so grateful for your presence in our lives. Mayapuris would not be who we are without the love and guidance of well-wishers such as yourself.
We are so excited to be adventuring into our next album, which will be titled ‘Nine Islands’, named after Navadvipa, the area including Mayapur where the kirtan movement was ignited. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and blessings in our attempts to serve the Holy Names.
Love and Respect,
The Mayapuris

The Mayapuris new Single, ‘Nityananda’, blends the ancient village with the classical orchestra, a symphony of sound that straddles the musical traditions of the eastern and western worlds. The composition is modern, harmonic and layered, the instrumentation from a previous era, but the sentiment is timeless, a deep call for mercy and for grace, a prayer to God as old as time.
The song describes the ecstatic Godhead, forever seated in a realm of compassion and divine madness. His expansive love spreads across the world like the silvered rays of a rising moon. Those seekers swept in its wake are pulled to the eternal principle, pure love of God.
Sri Nityananda Rama is a reservoir of eternal bliss. His divine essence is present in the chanting of His holy names. “Nityananda!” the Mayapuris single, is inspired by the 12 names of Nityananda composed by the saintly 16th century scholar, Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya, a contemporary of Sri Nityananda and Caitanya.
