Tulku Sherdor is the Executive Director of Blazing Wisdom Institute. Born in Montreal, Canada in 1961, he began studying Buddhist Insight meditation from a very young age, and met his principal teacher, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, in Nepal in 1981. He was fortunate to study with other pre-eminent masters of the 20th century, including His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Khetsun Zangpo Rinpoche, Dung Say Trinley Norbu Rinpoche, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, Kalu Rinpoche, and many others.
Tulku Sherdor has served and studied with many of the most preeminent and accomplished Tibetan Buddhist meditation masters of the past half century, and has practiced guru devotion and chanting for the past 40 years, including during six years of traditional and intensive retreat training. He wishes to share the masters’ blessings with you. He is the Founder of the Rimay Monlam Tibetan Buddhist Peace Prayer Gathering, now in its 11th year.
His Chant Cd is an exciting addition to the Mantralogy roster, which has mainly focused on chanting from the Hindu devotional tradition. However, this CD does have a small cameo appearance with Krishna das, America’s most loved chant master, and is filled with beautiful instrumentation with such perennial favorites as Steve Gorn on bansuri flute, and keys boards and percussion with John Mc Dowell, a well known sacred music producer.
